WIU is a comprehensive university offering 66 undergraduate and 36 graduate degree programs, including a doctorate in education. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1, the University’s 615 full-time faculty members teach 94 percent of all undergraduate and graduate courses, in addition to 10 pre-professional degree programs and 16 certificate programs. The top five majors, by enrollment, at the Macomb campus include law enforcement and justice administration, biology, psychology, elementary education, and agriculture. Western’s GradTrac and Cost Guarantee programs ensure that students can achieve their degrees within four years while paying a fixed rate for tuition, fees, and room and board during their years of continuous enrollment. WIU remains the only university in Illinois to guarantee the cost for tuition, fees, and room and board for students at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Residents of Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Indiana receive in-state tuition rates. Western Illinois University students come from 92 Illinois counties, 38 states, and 57 countries. More than 20 percent are minority students.
