Recognized as one of the “Best in the Midwest Colleges” by the Princeton Review and a Tier 1 Midwestern Master’s granting institution by “U.S. News & World Report,” Western Illinois University serves more than 12,500 students in the heart of the Midwest through its traditional, residential campus in Macomb, Illinois and its urban non-residential location in the Quad Cities, Moline, Illinois. Western’s friendly, accessible, nurturing campus communities are dedicated to higher values in higher education and are comprised of strong faculty, state-of-the-art technology and facilities, and a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities. The beautifully landscaped 1,050-acre Macomb campus has more than 50 buildings including 9 residence halls, a 300-acre farm, and an 18-hole golf course. The Kibbe Life Sciences Station near the Mississippi River, Fink Environmental Studies Field Laboratory and Conservancy, and Horn Field Campus provide research opportunities. Kerr Agriculture Field Laboratory offers hands-on training for students interested in agriculture-related careers. Western also offers a Master of Science in Biology at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Western Illinois University-Quad Cities is the only public university in the Quad Cities, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees to more than 1,400 students. Programs are offered at the WIU-QC 60th Street campus plus the Caxton Building, Figge Art Museum, and future WIU Riverfront campus.
