Merchandise Information:

We will be selling Dads' Day merchandise beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 in the University Union Concourse on the ground floor. Only cash or checks will be accepted and quantities are limited.

WIU Events

Leatherneck Football

Date: Saturday, October 19

Time: 1 pm

Location: Hanson Field

Description: Joining in the celebration of Dad's day, WIU Athletics will be having a Father/Daughter Challenge during halftime of the home football game as the Leathernecks play host to Illinois State on Saturday, October 19th. Father/Daughter teams must be present at the game to sign up and be selected. The challenge will immediately follow the band performance at halftime. 

Tailgating starts four hours prior to kick-off at in Q-Lot adjacent to the field. The Leathernecks welcome Dad's and students to enjoy the weekend with Football and fun.  Hope to see you there and Go Leathernecks!

ALL WIU STUDENTS RECEIVE FREE ADMISSION WITH THEIR STUDENT ID!

Veterans Club Bags Tournament

Date:  Saturday, October 19

Time: 10 am

Location:  Row E Commuter Lot by Rec Center

Description:  All proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.  More information about the Greater Peoria Honor Flight can be found at  https://www.greaterpeoriahonorflight.org/honor-flight

 

Corn Maze

Date:  Saturday, October 19

Time:  12 pm-5 pm

Location:  Western Illinois University Horn Field Campus (HFC).  HFC is located south of Macomb on China Road.  From South Johnson Street (past Macomb High School), turn right on China Road and follow the road one-quarter mile to the Horn Field Campus entrance.

Description:  Spend some time at WIU's very own Horn Field Campus and test your skills at mastering their Corn Maze!  Cost is $5 per person.

 

Golf at Harry Mussatto Golf Course

Date:  Saturday, October 19

Location:  Harry Mussatto Gold Course

Description:  Spend time golfing on the beautiful Harry Mussatto Golf Course for a discounted rate in honor of Dads' Day!  18 holes with a cart for the excellent rate of $25 for dads and $20 for students and siblings.  Call 309-298-3676 to schedule a tee time.

 

Spencer Student Recreation Center

Date:  Saturday, October 19

Location:  Spencer Student Recreation Center

Description:  Want to get a workout in while you are visiting your student?  Dads can workout for free at the Spencer Student Recreation Center all day on Saturday (open 8am-9pm).

 

Macomb E-Sports Tournament

Date: Saturday, October 19

Time: 10 am

Location:  University Union Heritage Room

Description: Do you enjoy Smash Bros?  The Western Electronic Gaming Association (WEMA) is holding a Smash Brothers Ultimate and Project Tournament.  The tournament will feature both Singles and Doubles for both titles.  Entry is $10 plus $5 for additional title. 

 

WIU Women's Club Volleyball Tournament

Inter-Hall Council Bowling Night

Date:  Saturday, October 19

Time:  4pm - 6pm

Location:  Digger's College City Bowl (123 East Adams St., Macomb)

Description:  Join Inter-Hall Council to show off your bowling skills!  Free drinks for the first 50 people, free shoe rental, and free pizza while supplies last.

Moon Over Macomb

Date:  Saturday, October 19

Time: 9 am - 12 pm

Location:  Downtown Macomb

Description: Join us for Moon Over Macomb in Downtown Macomb. There will be a Halloween Costume Parade, lots of kids activities, Farmers Market, Horse Drawn Trolley rides, and much more!

 

Haunted Museum Tours

Location:  Western Illinois Museum (201 S. Lafayette St.)

Description: Prepare to be scared (just a little) and learn about history!

 

Hike, Bike or Kayak at Spring Lake

Date: All weekend - discount is Saturday, October 19, 2019

Time: All weekend - discount is from 1 pm - 4 pm

Location: Spring Lake Park

Description: Get back to nature with your WIU Student at Spring Lake Park! Located just 2.5 miles northwest of the University, the beautiful 230 acre Spring Lake is complimented by hiking and biking trails, campsites and cabin rentals, boat rentals, and much more!

Discount: WIU Dads and students can enjoy FREE kayak rentals from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on Dad's Day!
