Take Back The Night 2017

The Women's Center put on one of its Legacy programs, Take Back The Night, this past October 26th, and it was a night to remember.  Thank you to all of those who were able to make it out and stand together as a community against sexual assault and domestic violence.  We are strong together!

Check out the photos and descriptions of this beautiful event through WIU's Western Courier: https://westerncourier.com/39272/news/western-takes-back-the-night-3/#slideshow1021455

The Vagina Monologues 2018

This past February, the Women's Center put on its 17th production of The Vagina Monologues.  It was a performance to remember, as it was the 20th anniversary of the worldwide V-Day campaign.  Through this event, we were able to raise $1,504.50 for WIRC-CAA Victim Services in Macomb!  Click here to find out more information about our show.

The Western Illinois University Women’s Center supports a welcoming and gender-inclusive campus community. Student development is at the core of our work. We advocate for gender equity through examinations of feminisims, sexism, patriarchy, and misogyny. We lead the campus community in explorations of how gender is a social construction that influences power dynamics, and intersects with all other identities, such as, but not limited to: ability, age, citizenship status, ethnicity, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic class. We promote opportunities to celebrate women, collaborate in programming and outreach, and seek unity and understanding.
