It's On Us

About Our Organization

It's On Us is a national organization working to end sexual assault as well as to support survivors. We're changing the way we talk about sexual assault and educating on how to intervene when we see someone who hasn't or cannot give consent. Our student organization at WIU plans to work with Residence Halls, Greek Life, Title IX, and other groups to plan events and continue trying to make a difference in our community.

Keep up to date on meetings, events, and more on our Facebook  page!

History of It's On Us

Launched in September 2014, It’s On Us is a national movement to end sexual assault. The campaign was launched following recommendations from the White House Task Force to Prevent Sexual Assault that noted the importance of engaging everyone in the conversation to end sexual violence. It’s On Us asks everyone – students, community leaders, parents, organizations, and companies – to step up and realize that the conversation changes with us. It’s a rallying cry to be a part of the solution. The campaign combines innovative creative content and grassroots organizing techniques to spark conversation on a national and local level. Over the past two years, almost 300,000 people have taken a stand against sexual violence by taking the It’s On Us pledge. The campaign works with 95 partners and students on over 500 campuses. And we’re just getting started… - itsonus.org
