WIU DREAMers Scholarship

Support our DREAMers 2021

According to the Migration Policy Institute, approximately 98,000 undocumented students (DREAMers) graduate from high school annually in the US. The financial, social, and legal challenges faced by college-ready, undocumented students are incommensurable.

DREAMers, for starters, have no access to federal financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs). The Center for American Progress recently reported that 74% of undocumented students who left school reported this was due to financial difficulties.

We urge you to support the DREAMer Scholarship Fund. The WIU DREAMer Scholarship Fund will support one or two undocumented students to attend Western Illinois University.

The fund is managed by the nonprofit Western Illinois DREAMers in collaboration with Casa Latina Cultural Center.
