Chicago Leatherneck Scholarship

The Chicago Leatherneck scholarship awards $1,000 annually to incoming freshmen from the metro Chicago area beginning in Fall 2021.

What are the requirements?

  • Incoming freshman
  • Resident of Boone, Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry or Will counties in Illinois
  • Resident of Lake or Porter counties in Indiana
  • Enroll full-time in WIU undergraduate courses

Is this scholarship renewable?

  • Yes, for an additional three years (six semesters) of continuous full-time undergraduate study
  • You must also meet federal satisfactory academic progress requirements

What else do I need to know?

  • Scholarships will be disbursed in equal amounts between the fall and spring semesters
  • Total financial aid and scholarships cannot exceed the direct total cost of attendance for Western Illinois University
  • Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds
