Justice, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Scholarship
The Justice, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity scholarship awards $1,000 annually to incoming freshman or transfer who is a student of color. This scholarship begins fall 2023.
What are the requirements?
- Incoming freshman or transfer student
- Indicate on the admissions application a racial or ethnic identity of American Indian or Alaska native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino/a/x, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander or 2 or more races
- Submit a current year FAFSA or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid with WIU as a school choice prior to the start of the semester of award
- Enroll full-time in WIU undergraduate courses
Is this scholarship renewable?
- Yes, for an additional three years (six semesters) of continuous full-time undergraduate study
What else do I need to know?
- Scholarships will be disbursed in equal amounts between the fall and spring semesters
- Total financial aid and scholarships cannot exceed the direct cost of attendance for Western Illinois University (tuition, fees, on-campus housing, dining) and no cash refunds will be given
- Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds
- Available for domestic students only
