Executive Branch

The Executive Branch is charged with executing any and all necessary action required in the completion of all legislative decrees. The Executive Branch consists of a President, Vice President, Chief of Staff, Director of Finance, Attorney General, Director of Academic Affairs, Director of Student Services, Director of Technology, Director of Outreach, Director of Diversty and Inclusion, and Student Member to the Board of Trustees. During office hours the Executive Branch can be found in the Student Organization Center, which is located in the basement of the University Union.

The Executive Branch represents SGA in all University activities either directly or indirectly as deemed by the President.

Kyle Ramlow, President

Kyle Ramlow is a second-year graduate student in the Department of Recreation, Park &Tourism, and Hospitality. Other than serving as President of SGA, Kyle is a Graduate Assistant for the Adapted Activities for All programs that lets WIU students create inclusive activities for kids in the community. He serves as a member of the Council on General Education, Council on Curricular Programs and Instruction, and the Council on Intercollegiate Athletics. Kyle also provides campus tours for potential and incoming graduate students. Kyle hopes to continue to build relationships with Administration staff and other organizations. Kyle has served in many roles in SGA, including a Senator-At-Large, Attorney General, and Representative for the Disability Resource Center and the School of Graduate Studies.

Kyle’s favorite thing about WIU is that it is a place where you experience so many different cultures, religions, lifestyles, and backgrounds and that is the best part about being a Leatherneck.

Winter Hurst-Leadicker, Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Winter Hurst-Leadicker is currently the Vice President of Diversity Equity and Inclusion for Western Illinois University's Student Government Association. He's from the St. Louis area. He is involved in a number of organizations and clubs, He also serve as a student delegate in the Illinois House of Representatives through our Model Illinois Government program. Moreover, He is a member of  The Associated Students of Political Science, The Associated Students of History, and the Unity Club. Winter's most notable academic achievements include being a member of the WIU centennial honors college , The National Political Science Honor Society, and the Lambda Lavender Honor Society.

Piper HeadshotPiper Hill, Vice President of Internal Affairs

Piper Hill is a senior Political Science and LEJA double major with a Pre-Law Honors minor from Illiopolis, Illinois. Aside from serving as the SGA Vice President of Internal Affairs, Piper is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma, currently serving as the chapter Treasurer. Additionally, she is a member of the Centennial Honors College. She has previously served as the Director of Logistics for RockyTHON, the Parade Chair for WIU's Homecoming Committee, and Sigma Sigma Sigma's Philanthropy chair. 

Piper looks forward to advocating for student needs on campus. When she sees the chance to make her school a better place she is eager to do so. She is very honored to be in this position and is excited to see the things SGA accomplishes throughout her time here.

Triston Eddlemon, Vice President of External AffairsTriston Headshot

Triston Eddlemon is currently serving as the VP of External for SGA. Triston is a senior, majoring in psychology. He is also currently serving in the US Army Reserves and will commission as a Liuetenant in May!

He joined SGA in the Spring of 2023 and have truly enjoyed getting to meet and work with everyone on campus!

Cody HeadshotCody Cornell, Student Representative to the Board of Trustees

Cody Cornell, a senior Agriculture Science major from Columbia (IL), was elected as the student member to the WIU Board of Trustees from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

Cornell is currently a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, serving as the Noble Ruler (President) for the fraternity. He is also a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity National Collegiate Advisory Council until 2025. During his sophomore year, Cornell served as the Student Government Association's Director of Academic Affairs and now serves as the liaison between the Board of Trustees and the Student Government Association.

During his time at Western Illinois University, Cornell has been involved in the AgVocators Team, the Interfraternity Council, the Academic Calendar Committee, the Honors College SWOT Analysis Team, and the St. Francis Catholic Newman Center. He has received the New Member of the Year Award with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, received a nomination for the Kinsey Tiemann Emerging Leader Award with the Office of Student Engagement, and received the George Washington Carver Award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. He is also a Dean's List Scholar.

Cornell is currently interning with the National Association for Resource Conservation and Development Councils (NARCDC), a non-profit that assists Resource Conservation and Development Councils in developing partnerships that enhance the quality of life in America’s communities.

As a member of the WIU Board of Trustees, Cornell will share the WIU students' voices and concerns, while ensuring WIU is an institution for opportunity and success for all members of the Leatherneck community.

Cornell will serve as the Secretary for the WIU Board of Trustees from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

MakenaMakena Martin, Director of Public Relations

Makena Martin is currently serving as the Director of Public Relations! She is a Junior, majoring in Forensic Psychology, and double minoring in Law Enforcement and Political Science. She has always been passionate about being involved in campus since her Freshman year. Makena is also currently serving on the Executive Board of Rockython, the Vice President of the Pre-Law Society, and as well in Centennial Honors College. Her favorite thing about serving on SGA's Cabinet is the opportunity to be the voice for students and to be the change at our University!.

JeffreyJeffrey Keith, Director of Academic Affairs

Jeffrey Keith is an undecided freshman, still exploring the programs and opportunities offered by Western. Outside of serving as SGA's Director of Academic Affairs, Jeffrey is the President of the Lincoln-Washington-Grote Hall Government, a recent GLACURH delegate, an active participant in five other organizations, and an enjoyer of musical composition, photography, and digital design. Jeffrey intends on using his platform within SGA to execute initiative which better both the academic and personal experiences of WIU students.

                       Raphael Popoola, Director of Technology

           Raphael Popoola is a second-year graduate student in the Computer Science department with interest in machine Learning. Other than serving as the Director of Technology of the Student Government Association, Raphael is also the Vice President of the Redeemed Student Fellowship and a Teaching Support Assistant in the Computer Science department. Raphael has previously served in various leadership capacities both as a student and as a professional. Raphael has previously served as the Director of Technology in the previous academic year at WIU. 

Raphael looks forward to contributing technology inclined innovations on Campus through SGA initiatives and as well provide support to other executive memebers to execute their goals for the good of all.
