Podcasts

Podcasting was an excellent way for the children to showcase their expertise in a particular area. It gave them a way to share an original story, produce a virtual tour, relate important facts, and demonstrate a process. Second graders produced their podcasts in a computer lab, first graders used laptop computers, and kindergartners used a SmartBoard to add and move content. The children’s podcasts were shared in many ways. The podcasts were uploaded to a website, sent to iTunes and played in iTunes. The poscasts were also uploaded for viewing on video iPods, and exported as movies that could be sent via email.
