Software Used in Activities

ACTTT used a variety of software programs to help children meet learning standards through technology. Using the software tools, children could explore, experiment, create, research, write reports, and work on group projects (see Children's Products.) Software used in ACTTT is listed and described below. Links are provided to help you learn more about each program. See Curriculum Activities to learn how various software were integrated into learning activities for kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

Google Earth combines the power of a Google search with NASA produced satellite images. maps, terrain, and 3D buildings are also part of Google Earth. Search for an address or the name of a well-known landmark and go to that location in seconds. The richest and most precise detail is in densely populated areas or locations of high interest. An excellent tool for exploring the world’s geography, Google Earth is a free download.
