Software Used in Activities

ACTTT used a variety of software programs to help children meet learning standards through technology. Using the software tools, children could explore, experiment, create, research, write reports, and work on group projects (see Children's Products.) Software used in ACTTT is listed and described below. Links are provided to help you learn more about each program. See Curriculum Activities to learn how various software were integrated into learning activities for kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

iMovie is an application in Apple’s iLife 06 and is part of the software bundled with a Macintosh. Use iMovie to create movies using imported video, photos (from iPhoto) and music from iTunes and GarageBand. Movie segments are arranged by clips. Use the editing tools to split and crop video clips, add photos and audio, imbed titles and transitions, and apply themes.

iMovie may be purchased at:

Alternate software for PCs can be downloaded for free:

* Windows Movie Maker comes installed with Windows. To check to see if you already have the program access the Accessories folder from the start menu.
