Software Used in Activities

ACTTT used a variety of software programs to help children meet learning standards through technology. Using the software tools, children could explore, experiment, create, research, write reports, and work on group projects (see Children's Products.) Software used in ACTTT is listed and described below. Links are provided to help you learn more about each program. See Curriculum Activities to learn how various software were integrated into learning activities for kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

Kidspiration incorporates text, photos, and graphics in a graphic organizer that provides an intuitive method for displaying children’s thoughts and ideas. Research can be conducted by adding Internet links to a mind map. Details learned through research can be enhanced in the writing mode and then easily converted to a word processing program. When used to collect information, Kidspiration is an excellent tool for previewing what will be studied and reviewing what has been studied.
