Software Used in Activities

ACTTT used a variety of software programs to help children meet learning standards through technology. Using the software tools, children could explore, experiment, create, research, write reports, and work on group projects (see Children's Products.) Software used in ACTTT is listed and described below. Links are provided to help you learn more about each program. See Curriculum Activities to learn how various software were integrated into learning activities for kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

Photo Kit Junior is "blank-page" software that provides the framework for using digital images (photos, clip art, drawings, downloaded images) to easily create books, puppet shows, and filmstrips. This bilingual (English and Spanish) program has a text-to-speech feature in the Book Center that reads what the child has written. Students' creations can be printed, reviewed on the computer, saved as a PDF (that can then be shared via email), or saved and added to a web page.
