Camp Leatherneck focuses on individual leadership development, provides opportunities for student/faculty/staff interactions, emphasizes the importance of understanding diversity, and promotes social responsibility by participating in community service.

FREE 2-day leadership retreat for incoming students

  • Give back as a member of WIU Move-in Crew for fall opening weekend


  • Connect with over 100 peers (Campers) & 20 current student leaders (Camp Leaders) 
  • Establish lasting friendships to begin your first year
  • Learn about campus resources
  • Meet WIU staff and administrators who are passionate about your success at WIU

Camp Leatherneck 2020 Important Dates

Wednesday, May 27:  Camp Application opens at 6:00 am

Saturday, July 4: Camp Application closes at 11:59 pm

Wednesday, July 15: Campers will be notified no later than this date if selected to attend Camp.  All correspondence will be via students' email portal.  

Tuesday, August 18: Camper Move-In, Introduction to Camp & Depart for Camp

Wednesday, August 19: Full day at Camp & Return from Camp
