Desktop and Hardware Services
Desktop and Hardware Services performs the installation and maintenance of WIU owned Windows and Mac desktop computers, laptop computers, and printers. If you need technical assistance or have questions, please call the Support Center at (309) 298-2704 to initiate a service request.
Our Support Services
Desktop and Hardware Services provides the following services to assist WIU faculty and staff. While this is not an inclusive list, it highlights the most common services provided.
- Hardware/software troubleshooting and support for office desktop and laptop machines (in warranty).
- Limited hardware/software troubleshooting and support for office desktop and laptop machines (out of warranty).
- Printer troubleshooting and repair (i.e., paper jam, connectivity)
- Installation of standard software image (system setup) on office Windows and Mac computers.
- Software installed at time of setup
- Windows/Mac computer network setups
- Network and local printer setups
- Hardware and software purchasing recommendations
- Setup and troubleshooting of Windows Mobile and iTouch/iPhone devices
