Employee Recognition Program Nominations & Criteria

Anyone in the uTech department may nominate an individual by completing nomination forms:

The URP Committee reviews nominations and select employee and teams based upon a group vote. Those selected as either Employee of the Month/Year, or Team of the Quarter, will also have the option to participate in the next voting process.

Employee of the Month & Year Awards

Employee of the Month recognition is defined as recognition to acknowledge an individual for a job well done. Anyone in the uTech department may nominate an individual by completing this nomination form.

  • Excellence in Job Performance: Exhibiting qualities such as commitment, dependability, teamwork, or flexibility.
  • Going Above and Beyond Expectation: Job performance outside of the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Observance of internal and external client satisfaction.
  • Cost Saving Effort: Significant impact to the department and/or university budget(s).
  • Creativity and Innovation: Contributing a new idea or thinking outside of the box in a way that is beneficial to uTech.
  • Leadership: Taking the initiative to resolve a major challenge and motivate others to do the same.
  • Process and Quality Improvement: Significant improvement to procedure(s) or reduction in time required to deliver a product or service.
  • Other: Any positive characteristics that are not defined above yet are deserving of recognition.

Awards: Certificate, Recognition at "All Hands" Staff Meeting, and Consideration for Employee of the Year

Team of the Quarter Award

Team of the Quarter recognition is defined as recognition that acknowledges two or more individuals for banding together on a job well done. Anyone in the uTech department may nominate a team by completing this nomination form.

Nominations should include specific information and details about team contributions.

  • Excellence in Job Performance: Exhibiting qualities such as commitment, dependability, teamwork, or flexibility.
  • Going Above and Beyond Expectation: Job performance outside of the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Observance of internal and external client satisfaction.
  • Cost Saving Effort: Significant impact to the department and/or university budget(s).
  • Creativity and Innovation: Contributing a new idea or thinking outside of the box in a way that is beneficial to uTech.
  • Leadership: Taking the initiative to resolve a major challenge and motivate others to do the same.
  • Process and Quality Improvement: Significant improvement to procedure(s) or reduction in time required to deliver a product or service.
  • Other: Any positive characteristics that are not defined above yet are deserving of recognition.
  • Awards: Traveling Team Trophy, Certificates, and Recognition at All Hands
