uTech Staff Spotlight
Supporting a university with thousands of computers, hundreds of classrooms and computer labs could not be done without the help of technical professionals.
Meet Jacob "Jake" Nicholson, a Lab Computer Technical Assistant working in uTech Labs. Jake is a senior studying Computer Science at Western Illinois University. Following a successful internship with John Deere & Company, Jake was offered and accepted a full-time position, which will begin after graduation.
Meet Chad Hankins, a Research and Instructional Consultant working in Desktop and Hardware Services. Chad graduated from WIU in 2005 with a B.S. in Computer Science and an emphasis in Business. Amongst his many accomplishments in uTech, he worked with other staff members to create a Universal Image process, which reduced the time needed to reinstall and configure Windows computers, by seventy-five percent. Chad was also the first uTech staff member to submit the name uTech Talk, chosen for University Technology News.
Meet Ashley Dunham, a senior studying Marketing, with an emphasis in Music, at Western Illinois University. Ashley works as an uTech Administrative Office Assistant. Her accomplishments include involvement with WIU Marching Leathernecks Colorguard, WIU Concert Choir, and the President of Fusion Dance Team.

Memorial Hall - The renovation of Memorial Hall has been a work in progress since before 2001. The building, originally constructed as Memorial Library, has undergone a complete transformation.
