U.S. Bank - Quad Cities Writing Center
The US Bank Writing Center serves the entire Quad Cities campus community, including students, faculty, staff, BHC students, and alumni. Professional writing consultants (Masters+) and qualified peer consultants provide assistance with any writing project, both process and product, in order to help everyone become more effective writers.
We are prepared to assist writers across the curriculum, supporting writing in the humanities, social sciences, education, business, and the sciences.
We also offer a community alumni outreach, providing individualized assistance with resumes, curriculum vitae, and letters of application. We encourage all students, alumni, and family of alumni to use this free service, and we thank US Bank and the Alumni Association for their support for this service.
One-on-one workshops on grammar, paraphrase, summary, and other essential writing skills are available upon request. We also offer practice in English conversation/idiom to international students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The professional consultants can be especially helpful to faculty desiring feedback on syllabi and writing assignments. They are also practiced in playing the “ideal reader” role for any writers preparing publications, reports, and presentations.

Procedures
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni may call or drop by to make appointments. Walk-ins are welcome when consultants are available. Graduate students and writers with long commutes and limited campus hours may schedule as many as two 50-minute appointments in a given day.
Although some writers expect proofreading and formatting/documentation services in the Writing Center, we teach writers to perform these tasks for themselves.
