The General Orientation (GO) Program allows students who enter the university without a major to explore different fields of study prior to declaring a major in a specific discipline. Typically twenty to thirty percent of all freshmen who enter the University choose General Orientation. Many other students will switch to GO during or after their first semester. Students may remain in the General Orientation program until they have accumulated 45 semester hours.
The General Orientation Handbook is a tool to help undeclared students explore major alternatives and adjust to college life. It contains exercises, information, and relevant websites to investigate. A pdf version of the handbook is available for your convenience.
