Cyberpunk literature has had a major influence on how the future is portrayed in popular visual media. It is reflected in movies and television and is gaining in popularity. Cyberpunk can be seen even before the movement had begun. Cyborgs (half-man, half-machine) began to appear in comic books, television and movies in the late 70's and early 80's, Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman let the way in television. Cyberpunk cinema is often more difficult to distinguish from other Science Fiction. With the technological advances cyberpunk has also jumped into the computers specifically games.
