Research Paper Guidelines for Final Draft
First Draft: Effective use of your first draft is essential to completing your research paper. Review my comments and try to work them into your final paper. Also, try to follow through with what you intended to do based on the unfinished portions of your project.
Final Draft: In your final draft, you will complete your research paper. Finish your remaining research as quickly as possible. You will want to devote as much time as you can to the final rewrites. You want your essay to be as readable as possible and for it to be able to support your thesis and arguments. For undergraduates it should be between fifteen and twenty pages and for graduate students it should be between twenty and twenty-five pages. When you turn in your final paper, you must provide me with two copies. You also must turn in the original first draft and prospectus (the ones with my comments on them). I will not accept your final paper without these other items.
Style: Use Chicago Style for the final draft of your research paper. Chicago Style citations are extremely important to successfully completing this assignment. See Kate Turabin, A Manual for Writers.
Due Date: 12/11 @ 6pm
Grading: The final draft is worth 60 points or 60% of the overall research paper grade.
I will accept no late papers!
