and Federal Funding Sources
In this workshop, we will learn how to :
1. Find information about Illinois government agencies that work in areas of social work.
2. Find Illinois regulations that are written and enforced by Illinois government agencies.
3. Find federal grant information.
1. Illinois Agency Information
The agencies' home pages are a good source to find out about the activities of Illinois
government agencies. Go to http://www.illinois.gov/government/agency.cfm, then click on an agency.
2. Illinois Regulations
The Illinois Regulatory Process
The Illinois General Assembly and the Governor will often pass a law or "Public Act" to correct or prevent a problem. A collection of current Illinois laws are found in the Illinois Compiled Statutes. An Illinois law will then usually authorize an Illinois government agency to write rules
or regulations to administer a particular law.
Illinois Agency's regulations are found in the Illinois Administrative Code. The Illinois Administrative Code is published on the Web at http://www.legis.state.il.us/commission/jcar/admincode/titles.html
However, most Illinois agencies also have the regulations they enforce as part of their Web pages.
