The great strength of the Web is that it makes information on the Internet reasonably accessible. It provides us with a table of contents, bibliography and a search device in place of the friendly librarian. I have divided these search and list/directory devices into a short and long version of search engines and list or directory devices. The division rest on my own preferences with the short list includes sites I access most frequently. Finally, there is a category of "metasearch" engines at the end of the page.
