Finding an E-Mail Address:
Friends, Lost Acquaintances

Have you ever wondered what happened to the boy/girl that sat in the front seat fourth row of the dreaded Biology class? Have you misplaced an e-mail address of a friend? Do you need an address for a Senator or Representative? The Internet and World Wide Web have a vast data base of information on all conceivable questions, including e-mail addresses, street names, phone numbers, etc. There are a variety of search devices that can help you in finding that missing address. None of these search engines have a complete data base, but they are large and improving. As the old saying goes "If at first you don't succeed try, try again": Don't give up after using one search engine. Several useful sources for these addresses were "How to Find Almost Anyone on the Internet," The Net August 1966, 24-31 and the PCNovice Guide to the Web, vol. 4, issue 11., 1966. These search devices are divided into the following categories:

  1. Universities--Vast list of Web Sites
  2. Legislature--U.S. Representatives and Senators
  3. White Pages--Email Search Engines
  4. White Pages--Telephone Numbers, Addresses, and Zip Codes
  5. Yellow Pages--The Advertisements
