Faculty within the Educational Leadership Department have primary and secondary teaching responsibilities. Primary teaching responsibilities are those courses that align to the professor's expertese and experience. Professors are usually given first teaching option when these courses are offered. Secondary teaching responsibilities are also courses of experte se but are not courses that I would necessarily teach every time they are offered. In the event that the primary instructor cannot teach the course (due to issues of scheduling) then I would be given the opportunity to teach it. Primary and secondary teaching assignments allow our faculty to focus on areas of expertese and hopefully offered well planned, standards aligned courses that will effectively prepare our candidates to become outstanding educational leaders. |
