Welcome to the homepage of Dr. Eric Ribbens!

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Western Illinois University. This spring I am teaching three courses: two sections of Biology 100 (nonmajors intro bio),  and Environmental Studies 401 (environmental studies capstone course). I also curate the R.M. Myers Herbarium (a plant museum)  at WIU, and I am currently researching the effects of clickers in teaching large classes and the ecology of two rare plant species: the fragile prickly pear (Opuntia fragilis) and guayacan real (Guaiacum sanctum).
