Haramaya University (formerly known as Alemaya University) is one of the oldest universities in Ethiopia. It is located in Alemaya, a town in the Misraq Hararghe.
The objectives for the Fulbright-Hays project to Ethiopia were:
- To build relationships and bridges of understanding between U.S. and Ethiopian teachers, students, and communities
- To increase and enhance teachers' knowledge and understanding about Ethiopian culture and society through an intellectual and experiential framework
