- The GeoExplorer Institute is the Museum's new Scientific Literacy program funded by the Illinois State Board of Education. The program is for Illinois teachers of grades 6-8 who want to improve their existing earth science curriculu m or begin a new one and learn how to effectively integrate computer technology into their earth science lessons. Workshops and school year activities will be featured. The application deadline has been extended. Applications will be accepted until all sp aces are filled.
- The Museum's past Scientific Literacy Program, An Interdisciplinary Study of Illinois Wetlands, was a three year program funded by Illinois State Board of Education. This program provided teachers of grades 5 through 8 with field ex perience and resources to support the development of an interdisciplinary approach to teaching wetlands ecology.
