October is National Coming Out Month and the Men's Network and Common Ground will be celebrating this event by providing a special treat for the entire community. The Chicago Gay Men's Chorus will perform a concert with special guest HERSONG, on Saturday, October 7, 2000, at Dingeldine Music Center - Bradley University. The concert begins at 8pm, doors open at 7:30pm.
The Chicago Gay Men's Chorus (CGMC), is part of Chicago's cultural and gay communities since its formation in 1983. Over the years CGMC has provided its audiences with a wide variety of musical entertainment. At the same time, CGMC members have been part of a supportive family that shares a love of music, dance, humor and pride in themselves and their city. Hersong, an all female group from the Quad Cities will kick off their 13th season with a concert here in Peoria. With over 31 members from all over the Quad Cities and surrounding region, Hersong's philosophy is "to promote and develop women's music as a significant expression of the strength, dignity and sisterhood of all women, as well as social justice, world peace, cultural diversity, the healing of the environment and harmony among all peoples and all beings of Earth." Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Seating will be general admission and doors open at 7:30pm. The event is co-sponsored by the Men's Network and Common Ground of Bradley University.
