WIU Roller Hockey By-Laws (Policies)
Club members must agree to the terms of membership before joining, as well as if they choose to renew their membership every semester.
E-board Positions and Qualifications
Positions and Duties:
· President (minimum 2 semesters on team): Runs all E-board meetings; picks and makes tryout cuts; writes an end of the semester evaluation of the club team organization; all other E-board positions report to the President; reports all financial dealings to the WIU advisor for the club team; oversees all decisions; chooses, enforces, and keeps track of all disciplinary action; runs lines with Vice President during club tournament; deals with all WIU administrative tasks; is the team’s Captain; and has the final word.
· Vice President (minimum 1 semester on team): Chooses tournaments and players that attend, along with President; arranges all overnight accommodations for tournaments; reports to the president; secures funds for hotels and tournament before departure; fills in for the President when he/she is absent; has the option to develop a set board setup/pickup schedule; develops and runs practices, and disciplinary during practices; develops a “standard practice” with understood regular discipline for disturbances or disruptions; develops tryouts, including schedule; assists the President in choosing tryout decisions; is the team’s Assistant Captain.
· Treasurer (minimum 1 semester on team): Is in charge of all expenses and income; reports to President; understands basic mathematical operations; explores opportunities to obtain money for the club team; formulates ideas for spending; organizes and executes any team spending activities; collects dues and develops/keeps track of a specific team budget, aside from the club advisor budget; assists in developing and maintaining web page with any active club team member.
· Secretary (minimum 1 semester on team): Develops and maintains attendance reports; creates advertisements and flyers; contacts players when needed; creates and copies phone lists; develops off court exercises and schedules; develops monthly social events.
Qualifications for E-board
positions:
ü Personal desire to hold the position
ü Meet experience requirement
ü Attend Bi-Weekly E-board meetings
ü Exhibit leadership skills
ü Has a credible disciplinary status
ü Meets all qualifications for the specific position that he/she is running for
ü All E-board positions are for only one semester, if one wishes they may re-run for the position.
· All members must agree to terms of this section before becoming a member.
ü If a member misses a practice, then he/she is given 1 point.
ü
If a member misses a Saturday practice, then he/she is
given 2 points.
ü
If a member misses a mandatory exercise day, then he/she is
given 1 point.
ü
If a member misses a mandatory practice, predetermined by
the VP, then he/she is given 4 points.
· Point System:
ü If a member has accumulated 4 points by a tournament then they will miss one full game.
ü If a member has accumulated 6 points by a tournament then they will miss two full games.
ü If a member has accumulated 8 points by a tournament then they will miss an entire tournament.
·
Points carry over to the next tournament if a member chooses to
not go to that tournament in question.
· If a player continues to ignore disciplinary action and continues to hurt the team in view of the President or Vice President, then they will be asked to leave the team, and lose all privileges of membership.
