Tutoring Support

The Academic Services Program in the UAASC offers small group tutorials and/or monitored study groups for several General Education curriculum courses as well as other selected courses (popular electives and introductory courses in certain majors). The tutorials meet at specific times during the week and students register for them through an Academic Services advisor.

The majority of the tutors are graduate assistants pursuing advanced degrees in the disciplines they are tutoring. A few of the tutors are upper division majors in the appropriate disciplines. Tutoring is free.

Students in the Academic Services Program have an opportunity to sign up for the tutoring sessions first. If there are openings after the initial sign up period, the tutorials are made available to all students on campus. Tutoring is available in several academic areas.

For more information about tutoring, contact Tutoring Coordinator Estelle Plewa or UAASC Director Candace McLaughlin.
