The Botany Greenhouse is located just south of Waggoner Hall. It is used for teaching and research. Plants in over 100 families are grown here for use by various biology classes, including Systematics and Taxonomy, Plant Anatomy, Plant Physiology, Economic Botany, Local Flora, Aquatic and Wetland Biology, General Freshman Biology, Pollination Ecology, Plant Ecology, and Bryology. Other departments in the university use the greenhouse for various reasons in their classes, including Horticulture, Forestry, Agricultural Crop Sciences, Art and Park, and Recreation.

The greenhouse was constructed in 1963 and occupied in 1964. The building, benches, and basic equipment cost about $55,000 at that time! It is basically a Lord and Burnham structure of three gutter connected, clear span, glass covered, east-to-west oriented ranges. The overall structure covers approximately 4500 square feet. It is divided into five separate rooms.
