Troop 156's Eagle Scout Page

The Eagle Scout Award is the highest award in scouting, and one of the most prestigious civilian awards a youth can get. Only two percent of all those who join the Scouting program ever reach the rank of Eagle. It represents honor, maturity, leadership and strength, as well as the Scout Oath and Law. This page is dedicated to the 27 Eagle Scouts of Troop 156.

Our two most recent Eagle Scouts are Grant Dannels, number 27, and Jerome Przystup, number 26. Jerome earned his Eagle in the summer of 1996. One of the requirements for the rank is that the scout plan and carry out a service project that involves the Troop, and demonstrate leadership. For this requirement, Jerome organized the Troop to serve meals at the PADS homeless shelter where members of his family regularly volunteer. Below are some pictures of Jerome's Eagle Ceremony at his church, St. Ireaneaus in Park Forest.

Grant earned his award in March of 1997. For his project, he made signs for all the buildings, and a large map for our charter church, St. Lawrence O'Toole. His Eagle ceremony was in June of 1997; however unfortunately there are no pictures available yet. If any do become available in the future, they will be posted here.

For now, check out some of the pictures of all those who have helped Jerome along the way to his Eagle, friends, family, and scouters.

It's the three amigos, (from left to right) Drew Morton, Jerome Przystup, and James Ebben. Drew got his eagle back in 1994 right before he left for college. Jim is not eagle yet, but we hope that he will be soon.

Jerome's family is very proud of this great achievement. Pictured are (from left to right) Nicole Przystup (Sister) Beverly Przystup (step mother) Jerome's Grandmother, John Prsystup, (Dad, in back center), Jerome (center) and his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin.
