LOCAL CABLE CHANNEL 3

What is Channel 3?

Channel 3 is the combined effort between the Department of Broadcasting and the University Television Department of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Western Illinois University.

University Television produces programming for a wide variety of clients - academic, governmental and institutional. Programming on Channel 3 includes plays, concerts and WIU Commencement Ceremonies. WIU programming includes "Campus and Community," a series of programs featuring campus and community groups and events sponsored by University Relations, "Across the Miles with Gordy Taylor," a series of programs featuring interviews with WIU Alumni, current administration and associates and is sponsored by Alumni Programs, and "People in the Arts," a series of programs sponsored by the College of Fine Arts and Communications with host Dr. Paul Krieder, highlighting the arts on the WIU Campus and surrounding community. Specialty programming includes the award-winning "Illinois History" series and "Apples Magazine," a program for educators of special needs children.

UTV's programming runs throughout the year, making Cable Local Channel 3 a 24-hour-per-day continual broadcast.
