Insurance

(BOT II.C.7.)

The State of Illinois provides each full-time status employee with comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance. The employee cost for the insurance is based on the plan chosen and the annual salary rate of the employee. Employees working less than full-time but half-time or more, hired on or after January 1, 1980, must pay a pro-rata share of the basic cost for their coverage and may choose life only, health, dental, vision only, or the full insurance plan. Each eligible employee must complete enrollment forms in Human Resources within the first ten calendar days of employment. Changes of insurance coverage are generally allowed during Benefit Choice period once a plan year or when the employee has a qualifying change in family circumstance.
