Employee Spotlight Tommie Lydic

Tommie Lydic

Office Support Specialist
Kinesiology

"Embrace change!"

Tommie works in the Kinesiology Department as an Office Support Specialist. She began her career at WIU in 2011 in the same department. Tommie is responsible for general office duties, adjunct contracts, purchasing equipment for the building, book orders and the budgets for Athletic Training.

Tommie attended Western Illinois University and earned her degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration. She then worked in the tourism field for three years before coming to work in Brophy Hall. She enjoys her job most because of working with great faculty. She shared, “We are one big family. We get along well with everyone!” She looks forward to the end of semester get-togethers…potlucks, retirement parties, and other fun social events.

When asked about someone who has helped her in her job at Western, Tommie was quick to respond, “Amy Randall in the Dean’s office! She is a great resource. We began at WIU at the same time and we have become the best of friends.”

Tommie enjoys kayaking, boating, and fishing in her leisure time. She loves spending time with friends and her dog!

HR salutes Tommie Lydic as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
