Employee Spotlight James Herzig

James Herzig

Office Support Specialist
Quad Cities Campus - Academic Affairs

James works at the Quad Cities Campus in the Academic Affairs Department. He works as a “jack of trades.” He supports the faculty in anything they need done, he provides backup for the testing center, room reservations, and sets up appointments with students and their academic advisors. James also serves on the Quad Cities Commencement Planning Committee.

James enjoys interacting with his co-workers on a daily basis. He shared, “There is a strong sense of comradery in that everyone is immensely nice to work with and willing to help in any way they can.” One of James’ ‘Best Days at Work’ included helping to plan and execute a successful commencement at the I-Wireless Center after months of preparation. “This was very satisfying!” A favorite thing to do for James, outside of his job is to buy cupcakes from Scratch Cupcakery when they have their vending truck on campus or in town. When he is not working you could find him taking long walks on a beach!

HR salutes James Herzig as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
