Employee Spotlight Stephanie Wagner

Stephanie Wagner

Digital Commons/Malpass Library
Chief Clerk

"We must all make the choice between what is right and what is easy." -Professor Dumbledore from Harry Potter

Stephanie Wagner works in the Digital Commons Area of the Malpass Library as a Chief Clerk. Stephanie began her career at WIU in February 2009 as a Library Assistant. In March 2013 she was reallocated to a Chief Clerk. Stephanie's primary responsibilities include: checking out equipment to students/faculty/staff, maintaining the color printers, and scheduling of the many meeting rooms in the library. Her favorite part of the job is the student interaction she has and the ability to help them whenever possible. Stephanie also enjoys helping students who are using the Broadcasting/Video Studio for their projects. Stephanie's best advice for prospective employees is to remember, "You are here to serve our students no matter what area you may work in. Often students have questions or don't know something, and you may have the answer they are seeking." "When I first started in the library, the most help I received came from Ann Patridge. She was so willing to show me the ropes, and made me feel comfortable and part of the team…she was a big help to me!" Stephanie's favorite WIU event is to bring her son to the basketball games, "He loves taking pictures with Rocky! We have many pictures with Rocky, but every time we come to a game, he always wants another one!" When Stephanie is not working as part of the helpful library team, she enjoys reading, and spending time with her family.

HR salutes Stephanie Wagner as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
