Diane Heisner

Office Manager
Counselor Education, Quad Cities Campus

Diane works at the Quad Cities Campus in Counselor Education as an Office Manager. Diane began her WIU-QC career as a Secretary IV in September 2003 and was promoted to her current position in August 2007. Diane's main responsibility is to assist the chair, faculty, and graduate assistants in the Counselor Education Department. The day-to-day contact with those in her department is her favorite part of her job. She shared, "No two days are alike and I enjoy that variety…working with students, in the labs, and with our faculty. I also enjoy my co-workers and being in our new campus where all of us are together. It's a great new facility!" When asked what her most memorable experience has been, Diane quickly responded, "I have a son who is a Marine and served in Afghanistan. I also went through a serious illness. Through all of that, everyone here was so helpful and so supportive. My coworkers made those struggles easier." Diane's WIU journey began with her receiving her Elementary Education Degree from WIU. She taught for a while and then learned about an office support position open at the QC Campus. She applied and was offered, and accepted the position. "I planned to only be here a couple of years, but I loved the people and benefits so much, I stayed!"

Diane enjoys living in Prophetstown, camp fires at home, day trips, and spending time with her husband, two sons, and her daughter.

HR salutes Diane Heisner as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
