Diane Bagley

Office Administrator
Center for Innovation in Teaching & Research

"Don't stumble over something behind you." - unknown

Diane works in the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Research (CITR) as an Office Administrator. Her primary duties/responsibilities are to schedule and plan over 200 workshops a year for WIU faculty. These workshops include, but are not limited to, new faculty, administrative, and teaching assistant orientations; Faculty Mentoring Program, Provost Awards, and much more.

Diane's WIU journey began in 2001 working for the STAR-on-line College of Education program. This was a grant-funded program. When the grant ended she worked in the Economics Dept., and then began in CITR in 2001. Diane enjoys the people she works with. She shared, "We are a team here. I love helping people and organizing the events. I also enjoy learning new technology!" WIU has great opportunities. "I have promoted in my line, you can take classes, and the university is so diverse. You can meet people from other countries right here in Macomb!" Diane's two sons both graduated from Western and she appreciated the benefit that the half tuition waiver provided.

Diane gives much credit for two individuals who have helped her in her career at WIU. Mandeep Singh-a former supervisor and Roger Runquist-her current supervisor. She explains, "Both Mandeep and Roger encouraged me to learn new things and to go through position audits. They supported me as I grew in my positions."

When Diane isn't working, she is still busy! She is a Certified Equine Practitioner for the Masterson Method. Diane works with horses to restore normal range of motion to improve mobility, comfort, and performance. She lives on a farm and raises cattle as well.

HR salutes Diane Bagley as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
