Peggy Lutz

Office Support Associate
Registrar's Office

"Helping students and parents are my favorite part of my job, even when they aren't sure what questions to ask. They appreciate my help. That's when I know I have done my job."

Peggy works in the Registrar's Office as an Office Support Associate. Peggy's welcoming presence is what you will receive as you enter the door. Her valuable customer service skills provide helpful assistance to all those who stop in or call the Registrar's Office. Peggy likes to share the story about being offered her job. "I interviewed twice for this position. I like to tease my boss and say that they were smart the second time they interviewed me as they hired me then!"

"Helping students and parents are my favorite part of my job, even when they aren't sure what questions to ask. They appreciate my help. That's when I know I have done my job."

One of Peggy's "Best Days on the Job" was her 60th birthday. As you may know from the HR Facebook posts, the Registrar's office throws their coworkers a very special luncheon on their decade-year birthdays. The higher their ages, the more elaborate the decorations, food, etc. becomes! For Peggy's birthday celebration, the conference area was decorated in a theme that included her favorite…HORSES! Peggy also shared, that her second "Best Day" occurred when she was called back from layoff to her original position in Registrar's after being laid off in June. She is very happy to be back!

One of the things that helped Peggy in her position is the advice her supervisor gave her, "You don't have to have all the answers, just know who does." She explains, "We have such a wide variety of questions to know the answers to, and it takes everyone to provide accurate information to those who stop in and call our office."

Peggy likes to walk during her lunch hours, and at home she enjoys her three Arabian horses; Jule, Sassy, and PJ Silver Knight.

HR salutes Peggy Lutz as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
