Sustainability PSA Videos

Public Service Announcements (PSA) to raise awareness of sustainability initiatives on campus. The videos will be unveiled at the Environmental Summit on April 4, 2012.

Students attending the Summit will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite video in each category. Videos will be aired on the WIU Channel 3 and in the Union. To sign up for a PSA topic and sign up for a iMovie workshop please send an email with your topic and workshop date to: Karen Peitzmeier in the Office of Student Activities; k-peitzmeier@wiu.edu or 298-3232.

Join in the fun:

Two iMovie workshops are available to learn how to use iMovie. You can use your phones, cameras or iPads to take the video. In the workshops you will learn how to transfer it into iMovie and transform it into a PSA Video!

  • Workshop dates:
    • February 17, 3:30 – 5pm
    • March 2, 6-7:30pm
  • All classes will be held in the Student Recreation Center in the Colgate or Keeney Room

Mac computers are available in all UTec computer labs on the WIU campus. For locations and lab hours please check the uTech Labs web site.

Movies do not need to be in the iMovie format to be submitted for consideration.

Videos will be:

  • No longer than one minute in length
  • From the 'List of initiatives' below
  • Submitted by March 28, 2012

Submit your Video:

  • Send a digital video file to k-peitzmeier@wiu.edu or drop a CD by the Office of Student Activities in the Union.
  • Be sure you receive confirmation from Karen for receipt of your videos

Videos will be shown at the Environmental Summit on April 4 from 9am - 3pm.
Be sure you and your friends drop by the Summit on April 4th and go to the Summit Facebook page to to like your video!
