Rocky Bikes - Bike Share Program
Rocky Bikes is a bike share program that provides a free 48 hour rental of a bike to any faculty, staff, or student. Register for the program by coming to Transportation Services at the Grigsby Physical Plant, Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. You must have your WIU ID with you in order to reserve a bike. The Grisby Physical Plant is located across from Thompson Hall. The entrance to Transportation Services is located along the south side of the building, across from the gas pumps.
Due to dwindling riders, Rocky Bikes will be closing on Friday, July 29, 2016. All bicycles must be returned by 4:00 pm on Friday, July 29.
Thank you to all of the riders that have used the bike share program.
Western Illinois University has designated bike lanes. Click on the map below to view a larger map.
Bike Repair Station
These stations include all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The tools and air pump are securely attached to the stand with stainless steel cables and tamper-proof fasteners. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedals and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments.
