- Description: The Women's Center's REAL Women (Women as Researchers Educators Activists and Leaders) Celebration and the Western Organization for Women (WOW) Spring Luncheon are being held jointly this year.
The Keynote Speaker will be Senator Kimberly A. Lightford from the 4th District of Illinois. Senator Lightford is an alumna of WIU and has served in the Illinois Senate since 1998. She chairs both the Education Committee and the Financial Institutions Predatory Lending Committee, and she currently serves on the Financial Institutions Committee, Senate Committee of the Whole, Appropriations 1, and Higher Education Committees.
A brief program will include presentation of the 2009 WOW Achievement Award, announcement of 2009-2010 WOW Executive Board officers, year-end review, and recognition of Women's Center staff and volunteers.
The cost of the luncheon is $12 for non-students and $8 for students. To make your luncheon reservation, contact Erin Taylor at E-Taylor@wiu.edu by April 24.
