- Description: Come celebrate Fall with The Department of Art & Design at First Wednesday!
No experience necessary. FREE! Open to everyone!
October's First Wednesday will be a celebration that Fall is here! Professor Bill Howard will be printmaking. Draw with Professor Jan Clough. Paint with Professor Tim Waldrop. Silkscreen your own Fall themed lanterns with Professors Susan Czechowski and Jenny Knavel. Come carve plaster with Professor Duke Oursler. Press a copper Jack-O-Lantern with Professor Kat Myers. Engage in the Second Annual Post-itŪ Challenge with Professor Ian Shelly. Dr. Ta-Teh Ku and the Art Education students will be creating personalized pins for all ages.
The WIU ANNEX GALLERY located in the Heating Plant Annex (HPA) will be presenting Dawn Robin's "No No No, Thank You".
The University Art Gallery will be open with two exhibitions on display: Samantha Haring's "Persistent Spaces", Serena Stevens' and Tim Van Ginkel's "Milk and Honey: Tones of Home".
The event is free, open to all ages, and welcomes visitors from campus and the surrounding community/region. With a great deal of collaboration and much resourcefulness, First Wednesday has relied on numerous donations of materials from businesses like Blick Art Materials in Galesburg, Illinois, and through monetary support from the Performing Arts Society.
