Earth Hour
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Location: Riverfront Hall 111, QC Campus
Description: Western Illinois University's Quad Cities campus will host a series of presentations, films and panels from 5-6 p.m. each Wednesday night during the Spring 2020 semester. This series will focus on informative topics in relation to Earth Day. The public is invited to attend.


  • January 15 - Inside the Mega Fire – WQPT Screening (RH 111)

  • January 22 – Pratt Ranch; How to Enjoy the Good Life Off the Grid – Dr. Bill Pratt, Director, Engineering Program, WIU (QCC Atrium)

  • March 18 – Ecofeminism - Tammy Werner – Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, WIU (RH 111)

  • April 1 – You should take the bus: Local Environmental Impacts of Public Transit - Jennifer Hirsch, MetroLink (RH 111)

  • April 8 - Public Understanding of Climate Science – Dr. Everett Hamner, Professor of English, WIU (RH 111)

  • April 15 – From Tree Cults to Deforestation; Environmental Disasters in the Middle Ages – Debbie Kepple-Mamros, Director, Quad Cities Campus Operations, WIU (RH 111)
