Rock Island, IL - Description: This all-day workshop will be based on Augusto Boal's use of creative interpretations of texts, including news items, book chapters, and visual images to spark interest, introduce new perspectives, and deepen understanding of equity, diversity, and social justice. Led by Ms. Janice Mandell and several graduates of her Central Touring Theatre Company of St. Paul (MN), participants will have many opportunities during the workshop to experience how strategies and exercises used in theatre can create a community of learners whose interest and energy take all the students to a deeper level of understanding.
