- Restoration Cathedral Music Symposium

- Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: University Union, Lincoln Room
- Description: A day-long symposium will examine various aspects of English cathedral music during the period 1660-1710, with a concentration on anthems and services. Topics for the sessions include: Religion, Politics, and Music in Restoration England; Chapel Royal and Cathedral Music; and The Aldrich/Turner Manuscript: Context and Assessment. Presenters will include Dr. Robert Shay (University of Missouri, Columbia), Dr. Nicholas Temperley (Emeritus Professor, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign), and Dr. Bryan White (Leeds University, UK). Scheduled sessions will include a performance by the University Singers directed by Dr. James Stegall.
