- Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Location: Leslie F. Malpass Library, Garden Lounge
- Description: University Libraries is pleased to present, Matt Kish, author and artist of Moby Dick in Pictures on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Leslie F. Malpass Library.
Inspired by a childhood love of Moby-Dick, in August 2009 Ohio librarian and self-taught artist Matt Kish decided almost on a whim to attempt one final creative endeavor - making one illustration per page, per day, for Herman Melville's classic novel. Over the course of a year and a half, it grew from a personal obsession to a blog and eventually a nationally published art book, Moby-Dick in Pictures. Matt will discuss how this project came about, where the journey took him, and how it changed him and will share examples of his favorite and most personal images from the series. His blog can be found at http://everypageofmobydick.blogspot.com/.
This discussion is free, and open to the public. It is part of the Art and Self Perception event series. Any questions may be directed to the Library Administration Office at 309-298-2762.
